Hydro Jetting Sewer Lines
- Inspection: A technician typically begins with a camera inspection to assess the condition of the pipes, identify blockages (such as grease, roots, or debris), and verify that the pipes can withstand high-pressure water.
- Setup: A specialized hydro jetting machine is connected to a flexible hose with a high-pressure nozzle. The machine pressurizes water to levels often ranging from 1,500 to 4,000 PSI (pounds per square inch), depending on the job.
- Jetting: The hose is inserted into the drain or sewer line. The nozzle releases a powerful stream of water that scours the pipe’s interior, blasting away grease, scale, roots, and other debris. The nozzle’s design allows it to propel itself forward while cleaning 360 degrees of the pipe walls.
- Flushing: The high-pressure water not only breaks up clogs but also flushes debris downstream, leaving the pipes clean and clear. Debris is typically pushed toward a downstream access point or the main sewer system.
- Final Check: After jetting, a follow-up camera inspection may be done to ensure the pipes are fully cleared and in good condition.
Hydro Jetting Benefits

- Penetrates and melts away grease
- Breaks up sludge and debris
- Destroys and removes tree roots
- Cuts through and removes hard minerals
- Flushes the entire system without digging up floors, landscaping, or tearing up walls.
Hydro jetting is especially effective for homes with large tree roots in their sewage lines, restaurants that can accumulate a lot of grease, and commercial buildings with high volumes of sewage. If your drains are 2” or smaller in diameter, they’ll require Mini jetting. Either way, the high pressure of the water could damage your sewer lines and should only be performed by a professional.
While there are many benefits to hydro jetting your sewer lines, it will not fix displaced or collapsed pipes. In this case, you’ll need to have your sewer lines repaired by a professional. Hydro Jetting verses Mini Jetting
Hydro jetting and mini jetting are two sides of the same coin, designed to blast away clogs with high-pressure water. The difference? It’s all about the size of the job! For smaller drain lines (2 inches or less), our mini jetter is the perfect fit. For larger sewer lines (3 inches or more), we bring out the big guns with hydro jetting.
Both methods utilize cutting-edge pumps and durable, flexible hoses equipped with specialized nozzles to shoot water at extremely high pressure, clearing blockages and leaving your pipes clean and clear. To get started, we just need a water source. Our hydro jetter, with its 300-gallon water tank, hooks up to an outdoor spigot. The mini jetter is a bit more flexible, connecting easily to a faucet or even a laundry machine supply hose.
No matter the size of your pipes, we’ve got the right jetting solution to keep things flowing smoothly in Owatonna and beyond! Ready to clear those clogs? Call us at (507) 821-2564!
Did You Know: Setting up scheduled hydro jetting maintenance for your commercial business will help prevent sewer backups that can turn into costly repairs and expensive downtime.
Severe blockages in commercial lines can be caused by grease, sludge, or other build-ups. Conventional techniques, such as drain snakes or cabling, will clear a blockage temporarily but can’t fully clean the pipe or flush it out to clear debris. Jetting is the only method proven to clean 100% of the sewer line. Even the toughest blockages and build-ups can’t stand up to hydro jetting.
